Single Tooth Replacement
Edmonds, WA

Dental implant in bottom teeth from Edmonds Dental Studio in Edmonds, WARegardless of how a tooth is lost or damaged, the loss can significantly alter the functionality and appearance of one's dental structure. It can also lead to further deterioration of oral health, especially if left untreated. Thanks to technological advancements in the field of restorative dentistry, the loss and damage are no longer permanent.

At Edmonds Dental Studio, Dr. Hasan Dbouk offers a wide range of restorative dentistry procedures to replace a missing tooth. Our goal is to restore not only the client's oral function and appearance but also maintain their oral health.

Single Tooth Replacement Procedures

There are multiple surgical and non-surgical replacement procedures available.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are the most effective tooth replacement procedures. An implant is a titanium screw that the dentist surgically embeds into the jawbone. Once the implant fuses with the bone, an abutment is attached over it, which connects the crown to the implant to permanently replace the missing tooth.

The process is surgically invasive and long, but it is a permanent, cost-effective solution. It does not damage the neighboring teeth and looks and feels just like a natural tooth. It also preserves the bone because the implant replaces the root joining the tooth replacement to the dental structure effectively.

The process can take anywhere between 6 months to a year as the healing time varies from patient to patient. The dentist will place a temporary cover over the missing tooth area to protect the area from bacteria and infections till the implant fuses with the bone and the gums heal.

Dental Bridges

If you are looking for a less invasive tooth replacement procedure, then bridges are an ideal option for you. You can opt for tooth-supported fixed bridges or resin retained bridges. A fixed dental bridge is ideal for teeth that are essential for chewing as they are more durable than resin retained bridges, which are ideal for the front teeth, which face little pressure.

Here the dentist will create a customized bridge for the missing tooth, attach it to a crown that will go over the adjoining teeth. The entire fixture is cemented into place. Where a bridge is functional, cost-effective, and easy to maintain, it can be quite uncomfortable when compared to an implant. The dental cement can also wash off, and you may need to come in again to refresh the cement layer.

Dentures

Dentures are an ideal option for those who want a quick and easy solution. They can be used to replace a single tooth, multiple teeth, and even minor gaps in the dental structure, thus, falling into both cosmetic and restorative dentistry treatments. Dentures are removable fake teeth that are easy to clean and easy to use. They are also quite cheap and are easy to replace and repair if they break.

Experts at Edmonds Dental Studio will first conduct a thorough examination of the missing tooth and the extent of damage to the surrounding structure before they identify or recommend the best possible treatment. We go above and beyond to preserve the aesthetics of your smile and restore your teeth to full functionality.
